I bought a 9wt Switch Rod to fish the surf (my passion in fly fishing) but haven't been able to mitigate many trips there because of weather, COVID-19 and other obligations. So I bought a 5wt Switch rod to practice in our clear rivers to target the fish near me. I'm still a Newby at this, but here is how it went.
