I'm headed to the beach tomorrow, taking the 7, 8 and 10wt. Hopefully the fishes bite but heres a simple but effective pattern for dark days, gonna tie some lighter ones.

I have a couple tied like that on a 3/0 hook also have some on 5/0 that I used on pike. Figured those would be good in the surf or off of the jetties for smacks or open water kinda fishes. Didn't use fish masks though; haven't used them before, how do you like them? My ties are not really traditional either (painted eyes seem like a pain) I used small 3D eyes and put em under a light coat of UV glue and multiple coats of Hard as Hull. Hard as Hull is about the same as Sally's and usually more expensive but a fly shop was going under in Springs and had it for .99 cents a bottle. Really like the bucktail on there looks like the good an crinkly stuff I prefer that you usually only find on wild tails.
