After reading about his 8lb bass on the CGR fly rod I had to try. At lunch I made a quick trip around the neighborhood lake with my 7/8 CGR with a Wiggle Bug. First of two bass was the 5-ish in the photo. She just rose up and slurped the bug as it only dives a few inches. That was the first good fish on the CGR and it handled her fine.
Now if the wind will quit blowing so hard I might can go after something inshore.
