Homemade Fly Reel Episode 7 is up

Post by jakehardgrave »

Episode 7 part 1 and 2 is now up! It's really beginning to look like a fly reel now...

I would like yall's opinion on finishing. I am trying to decide between bead blasting it and polishing it before anodizing. It seems like a bead blasted reel would better hide scratches from use, but man a polished reel would look nice...

Pretty cool watching a basic block of material turn into a beautiful piece of art. Very nice work!

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I am still wayyy too slow to make any money building reels. Maybe one day I'll have CNC equipment, then SaltyBum can get his reel ;)
