Fly tying materials to start off?

Hey guys, as winter is approaching and i am yet to catch a saltwater fish on the fly after a full season of trying when the wind permits, i want to start tying flies this winter when "cabin fever" sets in and start again fresh in the spring. Anyways, I want to know what materials i need to start tying and if it is difficult for a complete greenie to try? Also, does anyone have any reccommendations of places to buy materials?

Basspro shops have the basics. And you don't need to spend a fortune on a vise. Something simple will do.

Bass Pro shops in San Antonio has been giving free tying instructions every other Sunday. I would bet the other locations are doing it as well. You have to sign up for them ahead of time though.

I'm going to recommend Hook & Hackle.
Get the basic rotary vise, get the best bobbin and scissors you can afford, and a Matarelli whip finisher.
