Choke Canyon or Port A?

Post by Ocean Drifter »

I'm taking Friday & Saturday off to go fishing and I'm still undecided about whether I should go to Choke Canyon or continue on to Port A (BR Flats/LHL). Any suggestions/fishing reports/weather reports?

I did go. I spent hours packing Thursday night, got up at 4am Friday morning and was on the road by 5am. Made it to Fin and Feather by 8am and was in the water by 9am. Turned left went under the bridge and caught a nice Trout on my first cast using live shrimp. Water was a little choppy, but hey, you're at the coast, right? I spent the rest of the day fishing on both sides of 361 using live shrimp with a popping cork and also on the bottom with weight and on the top without weight. Tossed a few plastics and the usual top waters. Caught 2 hard heads and that's it. Most of the other anglers on the water weren't catching much either. Overall it was a good trip even without catching any fish. I got to test out my new kayak rack and I was where I wanted to be. Until next time.
