Suggestions for new setups

Post by Moda »

Hi all. Just got my first kayak last week. Won't get to use it much this winter obviously, but am working towards getting everything else fully setup so when spring hits, I'm golden.

I have two baitcaster reels I bought from Facebook marketplace (Black Max and a Bass Pro Qualifier) for $15 each. I have a medium Lew's Xfinity Spinning Combo already.

I was considering getting a Medium Heavy rod and a Heavy Rod for each of the bait casters so I could have some variety to throwing different lures.

I'll be mainly river fishing next year from the kayak, but do have a couple of small lakes I can get out in. I'm fairly new to having multiple setups and just want to make sure to have a few good options. Want to be able to throw everything I need to throughout the year.

Want to buy a good kayak, I enjoy playing the mobile casino, I found a useful website https://mobilecasino-ca.com/real-money-casino.html it's about real money casinos, I read reviews and then choose the best casino for me, so I earn some money for a new kayak. Hope for your help.

Seems OK for larger rivers. Hill Country rivers (Frio, Medina, upper Guadalupe) I mainly throw medium light spinning and medium baitcasters. I also don't throw bigger lures or swimbaits (which you see a lot of people commonly throw judging by youtube videos) so I don't need heavy gear.

I use UL most of the time, and like Josh I don't use heavy baits. My suggestion is a 1000 daiwa Fuego with a medium light boocoo rod. (Falcon rods boocoo. There is like 8 difference types so choose one that will fit the 1000)

here's a forum you might consider perusing for bass fishing lures and how to fish them.
Also a lot of information about what rod to match with what lure and technique

https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishi ... ng-tackle/

If you're going to add something, I agree with Josh about light tackle for small lures.
That's tricky on a baitcaster, without modifying the reel with low inertia spool for light lures.
If you want to pursue that, google BFS - bait finesse systems.

Adding a PS about the Black Max - that's a reel that many people tune for light lures by swapping improved air bearings in the spool.

The rod and line makes all the difference I’d rather pay twice as much for a rod than reel simply because the reel just takes up line with that being said if you visit tackle warehouse the dobyns fury line of rods are hard to beat a 7’ medium heavy fast action with 20-30lb braid with a mono leader Is what I use 90% of the time from pond fishing to tournament fishing
