Coleto Creek

Post by richard.morrow »

Greetings all.

I have rejoined after a long absence. My ID before was "ImRich". Looks like a lot of old members are still active.
So, my topic is Coleto Creek Reservoir. I've joined a fishing club in Bryan where I now live and our first tournament is Coleto Creek at the end of the month. I've not fished there before. I was wondering of anyone knows the lake and could give me some pointers as to where to or where not to fish. Also, since the lake stays warm from the power plant, do the fish stay shallow thru the winter?

What sort of accommodations are close to the lake?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rich

Coleto Creek has a website. http://www.gbra.org/coletocreekpark/default.aspx
Bass are everywhere in the lake just like any other lake. Hit the banks and grass beds as well as any structure you find. You can catch bass from the park to the bridge and beyond. No difference.
Coleto is a great lake to fish for crappie and bass. Good luck!
