Bait casting reel less than 100$ suggestions

Post by badfish »

I'm going to retire my old bait casting reel after 35 years or faithful service. The last big fish I caught gave her a bad case of the wobbles.

So I'm after a low profile casting reel mid range gear ratio mostly will be using it for casting stick baits unweighted and occasionally a spinner bait or Zara spook.
Prefer being able to pick the reel up at Bass Pro have rewards and discount I can use.

I recently picked up an Abu Garcia Black Max. They usually run in the $50 range. Once I learned how to set it, it worked great.

This is at the top of your range but will be worth it. The Abu Garcia Revo SX. I bought mine for 95 bucks because academy price matched Amazon. On Amazon it is currently 102.99. Maybe bass pro shops would honor that. I know academy would match and beat it by 5%.

Check out Lew's reels. They make a great product for each price point.
