Whitebass tips?
Whitebass tips?
Hey guys just recently got into kayak fishing and looking to get into some whites. I'm fishing Travis and used to using a bass boat with electronics and just trolling for them this time of year. Not looking for your secret baits or fishing holes just looking for some tips on how to approach the whites out of a kayak this time of year. I appreciate it.

Re: Whitebass tips?
Probably the same as with your boat. Minus the big motor.

Be on the water early in known schooling areas and unlike in a boat where you can follow them around from a distance, you'll have to let them come to you.

Re: Whitebass tips?
This time of year, I'd focus on areas in the lower main lake (channels, major points and humps, sandy areas) as opposed to the upper creeks.
I like using clear baby torpedos when they're schooling at the surface. When they're down deep, I like vertical jigging with lead slab spoons. I never did much trolling for whites.
