San Gabriel above Granger - Launch Options?

Post by jcovey »

Going with the family to camp at Lake Granger this weekend and I'm hoping to find time to put the yak in the river and work my way back to the lake in search of Crappie and maybe some whites. Sounds like the primitive launch spot off of 347 is a good option. But, are there any other options further upstream? Sounds like the steps are too much of a hump with a yak. Are there any launch spots along 95 or off of 29 that would give me a longer float?

Also, any tips on a good fly to use?

I have an old Texas Flyfishing map of San Gabriel River that shows access points at US 95 and CR 366. Looks like a long haul from the mouth of the river to the boat ramp at Taylor Park.
