That's cool. Now they just needs some takeout points downtown so I can stop for some TexMex and margaritas...

Heading out this weekend to Goliad State Park to camp and paddle the other trail. I've been searching the internet for info on fishing the San Antonio River and have found nothing so far. Any idea what might be lurking beneath the waters?

The banks are steep with parking a fairly long distance from the water. Unless you are young and strong it's a chore to get down to the water and then you have to carry or drag your kayak down several metal stairs to get to the water.
Watch out for rains as the river floods and there can be debris log jams along the way as well.
Take along a buddy, and plenty of water and a cell phone.

The Mission reach isn't as primitive as the San Antonio river paddling trail that I mentioned above.
It's a little more tame and a fairly easy paddle, but still requires you to park a distance from the waters edge and walk down stairs to get to the water.
