Any freshwater fishing close to Katy (west of Houston)

Guys had my yak for a while but with kids and all finding it hard to get away. I have been looking for somewhere closer to home where I might be able to wet a line or just take a quick paddle after work . Do you guys know any spots around the west side of Houston? Thanks!

I live in Cinco Ranch which has two manmade neighborhood lakes. They have a good crop of bass-they are small but you can expect to catch some fish. I live on the small lake and have for 10 years. I have spent many hours fishing those lakes and have caught many fish including a 12 pounder that I mounted. The lakes are catch and release only and I have only kept that one fish. If you catch a monster let me know. Others spots are just down on Grand Pkwy- Grand lakes -many lakes- too smal for a kayak but good fishing. These are all off 99 south-the grand pkwy. I will try to post a pic of my fish.
