I took this South Texas buck in Duval County just south of Freer. There are some real monsters down there.

That's a nice buck. It is very rare to find a monster in central

I got to go down to the Killium ranch near there years ago. The word Monster always comes to mind when I think about it. We hunted four days trying to find a mature buck small enough to shot. I let my son take him, it was a nine pointer that scored 158 3/8

Yes, its an old Marlin 336, 30-30. I have taken more deer with this gun than anything else I have shot.
I was using Hornady, Lever-evolution ammo, 160 gr.
