Do most of you guys who hunt teal hunt with an outfitter, on a hunting club, private lease? I'm in San Antone so I would think I would have to go farther east. Teal like pretty big water right? I wonder if I could find a farmer with a big stock tank who would lease pretty cheap just for early teal. I'm a teacher so I dont have the money for an outfitter or hunt club. Thanks

I usually hunt public land, along the gulf coast.

I'll walk out to a pond on a refuge, or paddle to a spot on a river and set up, or go out into the marsh.

I've seen Teal deploy landing gear in a tractor rut before. Don't have to have big water at all.

I'm lucky enough to like 20 minutes from Freeport, and an hour-ish from matagorda, so we hunt public land. Hard work, but it can be worth it.
