Duck or dove in Galveston county? WHERE?

New to kayak fishing, and hopefully hunting. Wondering if there is any where in Galveston County that I may be able to take my son out to hunt dove or duck by kayak. I have searched TPWD, but not finding any answers. I grew up on the San Jacinto river hunting ducks with my dad but that was a long time ago, good times and memories I would like to re-create. I do not want to have police or game wardens show up to issue fines because of ignorance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
