100% pure wild..

Post by Barnacle Bill »

This is one of the deer that hangs out wwith us. He's in a protected area of the park and is pretty friendly.. He's 100% wild, no genetic altering, no slective breeding, just 100% wild Texas Whitetail. It will be nice to watch him grow over the next couple of years.

Nice native buck! That deer would not ever make it down my hillbilly neighbors fence line. I let em walk too. Where is that BB?

He's here at the state park. We see him pretty often. There is another buck in a different area of the park that is a 180 class buck. He's a monster. They aren't in the hunting areas but we don't tell their areas because some idiot will be out here trying to poach them.

Nice Buck. Not sure if it occurs in many other state parks, but I went to Choke Canyon State Park once for the sole purpose of seeing some amazing bucks/racks at a particular campground/picnic area. They would darn near come up and eat corn out of your hand. Very tame and unbelievable antlers on about 10 of the bucks at that campground. Most had a similar rack structure and shape as the local stud - assuming they were his offspring. He was a 14 point with a big body, but the body looked small in the context of his antlers; just a freaky-@$$ big rack on ol' grandpa. He would not come closer than about 15 feet; had to throw him his corn.
