What all will it cover? Here's the plan in my head...

Get in line friday night at Justin Hurst WMA. Hunt there saturday morning.

Leave there and drop decoys at friends house between Bay City and Matagorda, go rest and fish in Matagorda.

Head out at dark, pick up decoys and head too Mad Island.

Sleep like a log sunday afternoon, awesome report next week

Sounds good, Justin Hurst isn't written in stone but I'd like to see whats changed since I was there in the late nineties. I know they had more freshwater ponds than Mad Island.

Maybe it seems like a lot because I work nights and usually don't get home til around 1 a.m. Hunt days for me mean getting about an hour or two of sleep.

I went to the marsh yesterday morning (Wednesday, near East Matty Bay). Lots of bluebills, plenty of pintail and mergansers, and a surprising number of wood ducks. The pintails were just making a beeline to the bay, but the others were peeking around the inland ponds.
