Hog or Deer hunt

Post by lildave40 »

Can anyone recommend a guide or location near Houston that can put me on a hog or deer hunt? I am a novice to Hunting and want to learn more.

Im also thinking of taking up hog hunting.
Hunting is something I want to do at least once.

I know there's a ranch owner in Monaville that posts on Craigslist.
His rate is $150 a night and guarantees youll go home with a hog.

I suggest that you guys connect with an experienced (and ethical) hunter and learn on a personal level. There are lots of different kinds of hunters. Your best bet is to connect with an older hunter who will mentor you and who wants you to bag a critter more than he wants to bag one himself.

Have you taken the Hunter Education course?
Are you required to take Hunter Ed (based upon your date of birth)?

Do you want to shoot an animal that is munching on some corn at a feeder?
Or do you want to go out and find the animal in his natural environment and outsmart him in his world?

There are many important things to consider when getting started in hunting. Learning what it means to be an ethical and safe hunter are the most important considerations. A seasoned hunter can help you with that and much more.

There is bound to be someone on TKF who has land he would let you hunt as a new hunter. You can start a thread asking someone to take you hunting since you're newbies.

I hunt public land and the drawings are over so you won't be able to go with me this year.

There is no greater hobby than hunting in my book.

There are few outfitters north of Houston as well. Not sure if they advertise in the paper or not.
