TPWD draw hunts

Post by Alsatian »

Got drawn again. This time it's for pronghorn at the Rita Blanca National Grasslands. Last year there were 4380 applicants for 10 permits. This year there are 12 permits and one belongs to me. So to celebrate this great achievement I just purchased a new rifle chambered in 25-06. I'm ready to get it broke in.

Yes. Just Northwest of dumas. Maybe I'll get a chance to see the Motherland.

Congratulations. I have been putting in for that hunt about 20 years.

Wow. I've been putting in for 8 and the other two have been putting in for 12 years. I'm taking this as a once in a lifetime hunt and don't really expect to ever get drawn again. But I'll still try. :D

I figure if I ever get drawn on that or exotics either is likely once in a lifetime.

Congrats! Good luck; that hunt's a tough draw. I drew management deer at Mason Mountain. It's not the exotics hunt, but I'll take my camera and shoot some that way.

You got the right gun choice too. I loaded for 25-06 for years. Id highly recommend finding a 100gr BTSP round. Fast and flat. Optimal bullet for that gun and speed goats.
