I'd like to buy the Raygaurd Reef boots/shield but need more info about the sizing. I wear a 10 1/2 B in a street and athletic shoe. Anyone out there with the same size foot and have a good fit with the Reef boot?

I can't speak from personal experience but found this sizing note on a website that sells 'em:

Quote:
Ray-Guard Boots are sized to be worn barefoot but. If you plan on wearing them with heavy socks or over stocking foot waders, order two full sizes larger than you would wear barefoot.

I don't remember exactly what I did when I bought mine, except that I did get them a little larger because I planned to wear socks. Mine are perfect and a great investment. If you order wrong, they will exchange.

If in doubt go big. The Boots don't break in but your feet will feel like they are getting broken in if you err on the small side. The newer ones fit better and I think they come in a Blue Box rather than yellow.

One tip that I learned from a guide a while back is to go over size so the booties act like snow shoes in soft mud. As long as they aren't so big they get pulled off your feet this works. Socks or Neoprene booties help comfort wise but are hotter. Liner socks and neoprene are the best if your prone to blisters.

FWIW, I wear 10.5 shoes/boots, and wear these Rayguards in a size 10 with thin socks, size 11 with waders.

I bought mine two sizes larger with the intent to wear them over my waders. I bought neoprene socks so that I could also wear them without waders.

I took my breathable waders w/ me to FTU to try on the Raygaurds I bought. They fit perfectly with thin socks and breathables. When using the boots while wading wet, I wear a pair of really thick socks made for cold weather hiking.

If you can post your street shoe size and the size that fit you best, that would help very much. From a previous search of the forums I saw people buying everything from 1 size to 3 sizes up. I don't plan on wearing waders but I guess I should leave that as an option for the future.
So do you think 10 1/2 steet = size 13 Reef boots?

The neoprene sock will help from getting the blister on the back of your heel when you wear them bare footed. It only took me one time to realize this an know I never wear them with out my neopreme socks.

I should have bought mine 1 size too big because they squeeze my feet to the point I can not wear them.
