REDFISH CUP STOPS IN LAKE CHARLES THIS WEEKEND

The Redfish Cup will be in Lake Charles this weekend. The previous stop was down in Port Aransas. It should be interesting to see (once it airs on TV in August) how the anglers, particularly from the clear waters of Texas and Florida adapt to the brown muck in the Calcasieu estuary. There's not much sight casting around here.

Yeah, I just fished the CCA tournament with the Aggie team in Port A. I also got to meet Jose Wejebe. I was standing around at Sharky's with a few friends blowin' the frost off of a couple and talkin' to some dudes from Florida and they asked if I wanted to meet him. He was a cool dude and he had the perm with the soul glo to go with it.LOL.

I read in the local paper today that 4 of the top 5 teams used gold spoons. Some caught redfish in almost freshwater along with bass and bream.

Looks like a team from Corpus is leading after 2 days. I hope to get down to the final weigh-in tomorrow.
