Where is the best place to put my kayak in to fish Cow Trap Lake pls.

Not familiar with that area at all but looking at maps looks like it's at Boat Ramp Crew Change spot

Over a 4 mile paddle just to get to the mouth of Co trap.

Yes sir that's a long paddle period. Then it's another 1.5 miles to the back of the back lake.

There's a good looking set of back lakes really close to the boat ramp I linked above. Just a short paddle to the west on the south side.

I never paddled there. Mothershipping works, I’ve done that to cow trap. It’s too bad the San Bernard NWR doesn’t offer access from inside the refuge. I did talk to them once upon a time about that, there are roads in the refuge nearby to cow trap, but access is blocked.

Potentially, someone could drive up the beach from Sargent to Cedar lake cut and then launch from there. It would be a shorter paddle. It would be a more treacherous drive.
