Going to be wade fishing around some private piers in the rockport area mid December. Any helpful advice

Should I use a scented jerkshad, DOA shrimp, or gold spoon??

Pier fishing in December can yield trout and some reds for sure. A jerk shad worked a little slower than normal could be good. I like the action of the Vudu shrimp. I would be chunking a fiddler or mud crab next to those pilings for sheepy's and drum.
