Next week is my annual Rockport Redfish Roundup I make with my good fishing buddies, but I thought I'd toss out an open invite for anyone to meet up and fish while we're down for the 5 days. No places have been set in stone and will be a night before call more than likely.

Obviously, social distancing and all that will be adhered.

Be good to see you again Tombo. Hadn't seen you since Port Bay 10 or 15 years ago.

One of the biggest reasons to be nice to everyone.

both tide and wind prediction says Monday should start in the cut at the top of Trout Bayou, then drift down.
It's the best tide of the 5 days for being there.

I'd be in for sure, but I'm taking my skiff down to Arroyo City/Laguna Madre. Gonna fish all of Ron's Honey Holes! Hope the cloud off Belize doesn't get a name and come our way. Great weather! Catch 'em up. TexasJim

Ron,

I'm starting to question whether or not you kayak fish anywhere other than the northern portion of Estes Flats.

I'll be there in spirit. Looking forward to posted photos.

Storm forming off Cancun reminds me of my spending Hurricane Wilma in Oct. 2005 on an Island south of Cancun. It made for one heck of an exciting fly fishing trip.

when the wind and tide is favorable, it's hard to resist - I'd love to get a west wind and cross the ferry, but Estes is so easy on both NE and SE winds.
And that steep tide drop Monday first light...make sure you're on a pass somewhere, but Trout Bayou is perfect with NE wind.
Get out on Aransas and drift into the cut. Or wade the cut and cast.
When the cut slows down, follow the fish down Trout Bayou.
When the wind shifts to E, drift out of Little Cut back to Palm Harbor.

KK, we'll lift a beer thirty koozie to you. Glad that wasn't Gilbert. Hurricane Gilbert destroyed Quintana Roo in more ways than one. After the devastation, the influx of expatriate $US changed it from a string of sleepy Mayan fishing villages into Miami Beach.
