Kayak Insurance Policy

Post by SWFinatic »

Does anyone have a separate policy on their kayaks? We have 3 kayaks and a galvanized trailer I carry them on. If I had to replace the yaks and trailer it'd be north of $8k.

Going to talk to my agent but wanted to get some feedback before I do.

I had boat insurance on three of my kayaks, trailer, and gear. It cost me $116 a year and had $50 deductibles for each kayak and a $100 deductible for the trailer and fishing contents. Valued my stuff around$7K. This was through Germania and I ended up with two boat policies because I could only have two kayaks on one boat policy.

Thanks. We have Germania for all of our insurance. I'm going to give them a call.

I ended up going with Germania on the kayak policy but the policy was written by Progressive. You can go direct with them.

I have found a guy that has better rates than Progressive. Give Ryan a call or shoot him an email. Either way I highly recommend getting them covered. And it costs pennies to have a few grand in gear coverage also included. Cheap peace of mind.
