CARANCAHUA COVE..

I'm heading down to do some kayak fishing in carancahua Cove this weekend and wondering if y'all had any tips on fishing the area what to use and stuff. Of coarse I'll get a report in at the end of the day on saterday

Paddle up and down the grassy areas near the breakwaters for reds/flounder. Wide open areas between individual breakwater structures are good for trout with a popping cork.

well, mid morning is better than late afternoon. Might try any small bone or white paddle tail, small tops, and also little johns. Look for trout slicks. Hope you did ok.

Caught my biggest stringer of trout in there in April on a black topwater before daylight one morning. It has changed a lot since then, and I've not come close to duplicating that. At one time there was very little pressure there, but there is now. If you can paddle to some of the more remote south shore coves, you'll likely catch more.
