Structures in CC Bay

Post by Moken14 »

Good Morning all,

Does anyone have any experience fishing the structures in CC Bay? More specifically the ones just east of the marina in downtown CC and another one a few miles north east of tamucc?

not CC bay, but we've caught schoolie specs at crack of dawn at the 11' deep structures on Aransas Bay.
We were tied off one morning, the sounder went black mid-column, I stood up on the back of the boat with a fly rod and sinking line and slayed them. After that, we ran the powerboat to St. Jo shore and slayed some more.

Are you talking about the oil platforms? If so, I wouldn't recommend it. Way too open when the wind would start to blow. If you want to fish structure like that there are some closer ones in Nueces Bay. But again you're completely exposed to wind.

I’ve never done that. However, I did notice something interesting on my hotspot map. There is a “fish haven” near the end of the Cole Park pier. I have no idea what that is but I need to get out and check it out. Is anyone familiar with this?
