E. Matty/Chinquapin Good Friday
E. Matty/Chinquapin Good Friday
Planning to launch at chinquapin and fish mud/shell in E. Matty across the ICW. Anyone fished this area since the temps dropped? Fished it this time last year with a guide and have been wanting to try it out in the yak. If anyone is interested in joining let me know.

I plan on heading there one day next week. However, I'm leaning more toward heading into the marsh, on the south side.
I would be interested in and greatly appreciate a report.

Yah I’ll post a report on how it went. Planning to drift the scattered shell and reefs for trout.

Let us know how you do and how the road to Chinquapin was. I am making a trip out there soon.
Re: E. Matty/Chinquapin Black Friday
First of I just realized that I wrote Good Friday instead of Black Friday in the previous subject line.
The road out there is pretty bad in some spots. I was able to get through it with my 4x4 SUV but I wouldn’t recommend going out there till it dries up a bit. I saw a few trucks get stuck and had to be pulled out.
I ended up catching a 25” redfish as soon as I got out to the reefs and then nothing. Lots of flipping mullet and some blowups but nothing wanted what I was throwing. Saw probably 10 other boats pull up and either drift or wade the reef and nobody caught anything. Still a better day than Black Friday shopping.

Thanks for the report. Good news is, there were no skunks involved.
