Camping light house lakes

Post by tito82x »

Anyone know if you're able to camp or any sites to camp around the light house lakes? Want to make a trip out there and camp out as well if possible.

People often camp just outside the West border of the "Park". It's just as close to the fishing as the park. Lots of people camp across the road (361)at the Brown and Root Flats access. Tons of room. I see camper RV's and sometimes a tent. The Lighthouse Lakes Trail is a joint venture between TPWD and the City of Aransas Pass, but there's not much done nowadays. Maybe trash pickup occasionally. Many of the trail markers went down in Hurricane Harvey, and they're still down. Bring 5-gallon buckets of Deet spray! TexasJim

Mosquitoes down there have been seen flying off with tents with screaming people inside. On a serious note be careful to pitch a tent on the higher ground since the low areas flood at times.
