Corpus Christi Report

I fished Corpus Christi Bay last weekend. The area we were in didn't have much tide during the time we were out so we had to search for areas where the wind was funneling a little more water through some breaks in the small islands. The water depth was about 2 feet on all sides and in between, but the wind channeling the water increased the current enough to get the bite going. Bait was plentiful in several spots, but this area with a little extra current was the only one that produced fish. Over a couple hours we caught many trout to 20" and several reds, that we all under sized. We used the pearl Controlled Descent Jerk Shad as a topwater and the red/white paddle shad as a slow sinker. My buddy wanted a few for dinner so we kept 3.
