Frenchtown / Overton Avenue Kayak fishing

I would like to know if anyone has kayak fished in the area shown below?
Are ship wakes a problem at this location?

i fished it a couple weeks ago, there were reds tailing all over in horsehoe lake but wouldnt bite a thing... the ship wakes were your typical shipwakes... justhave to watchout for them. the lake is full of oysters so expect lots of hangups
