Interesting little map showing road closures for those trying to either get in to help or out to safety

Yeah, Tobin: I used that site to find a way to Rockport on Sunday. It was pretty accurate in its descriptions of the hazards and conditions. Good info.

Been mapping my route to Shoalwater on it If it remains as predicted and 59 is open at Wharton, it will be my normal route. If not, and 59 is still closed, I found county and farm roads around the east side of Wharton from right before Hungerford.

Just an FYI, they have been having issues with their site and the maps on there can be as much as 72 hrs old. Over the past 2 days, Ive driven numerous routes the map says are closed and had to turn around several times when the map says they are open. DO NOT chance running out of fuel or getting stuck going by that map alone. It is WAY behind on developing situations

Google maps does a great job of showing traffic issues on the map. Real time.

Good info. It was probably designed more for use during non Harvey type situations.

Yeah, heading down to the coast early Saturday morning, I got detoured through Glen Flora to cross the Colorado (yes I saw the dead cow about 5 minutes after I almost hit another cow in that fog ) . Wharton was apparently in worse shape than was indicated, the crest was later than forecasted and I think they may also not cover farm to market roads. But I got there just fine once I got passed Wharton.

I did not even try coming back up 59 yesterday on the way home. I went through Victoria to Schulenburg and took I-10 back to town.
