West galveston surf

I've heard wading surf on the west end of Galveston has been on fire lately. Thinking about doing it tomorrow, but the surf looked pretty rough today. Does anyone have a report of wading the surf in rough surf? If we're not catching anything I think we'll just go wade the bay somewhere.

If it's rough, I don't bother with the surf. You can catch a few fish with live bait or Gulp under a popping cork, but getting beat by the waves and what that does to your reel, it's just not worth it to me.
