5-27-2017 Dad and Matagorda

My dad passed away 9 years ago. He is the reason I am a trout fishing addict. We had a house in Matagorda on the river for 40 yrs til 2000. We were always there. We fished the west shoreline if east Matagorda my whole life and have gotten some big trout there over the years. I am finally letting go and me and some buddies will be kayaking his ashes to our spot and setting my dad free. I will be putting up a pvc cross to mark the spot and hope it stays up a long time. If anyone is in the area please stop and wet a line. We will be fishing after we finish.

I to am sorry for your loss man. I still am holding onto the remains of my dad and waiting for the right time. It's a coincidence that you say you had a house on the river. We had a house in Sargent and use to fish that area and east part of East Matty years ago. I've been thinking about doing somewhat the same thing. That is a great thing what you are doing and I hope that God blesses you with a Texas Slam Limit!

One of my favorite places to fish, West Matagorda. My father also taught me to fish. He has been gone for 5 years.

My dad also is the reason I fish. He just passed away this past January and mom passed away 10 years ago. just know that when you spread his ashes out there you are bringing him home!!

Gonna do it on the 27th. Gotta get the cross built and it's gonna be bad to the bone. Gonna have 2 solar spotlights that will shine down on it and the water to night fish. Also it will have a union on it so when the batteries need replaced it can be done easily. If anyone is out and sees they need to be replaced please let me know. I'm putting this up for everyone to enjoy and fish with my dad.
