ATTN ANGERS: We have had a number of inquiries regarding this Saturday's event and the weather forecast. At this time we have no intentions on postponing the event. In fact, we strongly encourage you to SIGN UP! As many of you kayak anglers know all too well, difficult weather can make or break an angler's pattern at any point and can substantially 'level the playing field' in an event like this. This could be anyone's game! If you think you're on any fish, sign up! We pay 25% of the field and we've seen past events where if an angler brought in just one slot fish they got paid! LET'S GO!!

looks like a whole lot of wind but no rain till the evening, would it be postponed based on wind alone? Or would it have to be rain, thunderstorms etc involved, would like a little more detail on the thought that would go into canceling or postponing the tournement

Word is that there are no plans to cancel. The operative word is just to be safe and stay out of open water as much as possible. There are plenty of places to fish where you can get out of the wind and still have a productive day. Best of luck to everyone.

That is correct. We have been closely watching the weather along the coast, and have zero intentions of postponing the event. With the borders being open to the entire state, we feel there is plenty of water to safely fish on Saturday. Should the weather drastically change, rule number 12 would come into effect.

“12. INCLEMENT WEATHER: If the weather looks to be inclement, it is the contestant’s responsibility to check the Lone Star Kayak Series website, Facebook or call the Tournament Directors to see if the event is on. If you do not see or hear a message, the event has not been cancelled. If event is cancelled messages will be posted by 12am.”

Numbers are currently down (sitting around 80), which we absolutely understand, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone and have some great sponsor prizes to hand out.
