I found this at Bass Pro last week since my last fish grabbing device flew out the boat during a Mattagorda trip. Nothing against them and they serve their purpose, but I tried this one in Baffin (Made by Quarrow) and I really liked it. It's light and compact, perfect for wading or kayak and what I liked the best is it was actually easier to get into a fishes mouth.. price is right as well.. $12. seems fairly well constructed of decent materials, only time will tell on that, and it appears stainless.
I even found a 'free' drum line float near East Kleberg Point that I re-purposed from the shoreline. Gives it character and a certain mystique I think, but it was the perfect size. Light, compact, does the job.
I don't think there's any real replacement to a full blown boga with a scale.. but this will get the job done until you and I can afford one.

If I didn’t already have a Boga, I think I’d spend that $12 in about 2 seconds
