Oso bay question

Post by da_karr »

I've been looking at some hook line maps as well as google earth, and have been eyeing Oso. I was curious if anyone has any experience fishing Oso in winter. I'm thinking i can fish it Friday. High tidal coefficient and thought maybe the mouth could be good on the incoming tide? I appreciate any Intel. I have recently started to really focus and learn the saltwater. Been having a blast. Thanks in advice y'all. Stay safe.

You might check CorpusFishing.com as they have some folks that fish that bay from time to time. Tyler, the admin there is also good about answering personal messages/emails from people inquiring about fishing reports. Good luck.

I can hear crickets chirping its so quiet on this thread. LOL. It's like asking if there are fish in Chocolate or something.

I sent Daniel a PM.

CorpusAngler.com has maps showing various launch spots including a couple at Oso. There also used to be a wading/kayak club active amongst Oso Bay fisherman but I do not know if they maintain a website or if they are active. Would not hurt to explore the internet for such groups.
Do not now about Vanilla or Chocolate Bays but there are fish in the Oso just not hit up as hard as some others. If you are military or retired active duty or have base privileges there are spots to launch out at the Naval Station in Flour Bluff.
Go Cowboys!!!!!

Yes oso is best on tidy movement, can be good year round. Winter - trout, blk drum & sheepshead. Good luck, watch out for currents and wear pfd. It can get burly quick.
