when we plan on fishing the surf we still go to "the Boilers"
in the old days the stack to the boiler of the Acadia still stuck out above the water
great structure along the 3rd sand bar
Man, it's been a long time since I laid eyes on the "Boilers."

I wanted to hit the surf so bad Sunday, but the chore lists were just too long, inside the house and in the yard.

But I should be a fairly regular Dawn Patrol attendee for the next month and change. I got a 4X4 again, so parts of Surfside Beach that used to be iffy for me are now back on the table :D

i was down there on the 6th for both the OGSR- Old Guys Surf Reunion &the 2Cool spring gathering at "Sam's beach" (just down towards access-6 from the Boilers). the county has graded the entire beach, pushed the dunes back towards the road, rebuilt and re- planted the dunes. the beach is about 35 yards wide from mean tide. it will blow you away!!
here's the drone vid down at the 2Cool gathering on Saturday

Very cool! I was down there myself that same weekend. I fished Christmas Bay at that boat launch there and set up camp on the beach side. I should have fished the surf before it got stirred up that evening. I only caught one red in the bay.
Was that someone in your group that had that huge bond fire going that evening? I'm telling you that fire was higher than the RV's parked there!

the guys at the OGSR were at Stahlman Park, which is city of Surfside beach. the city let them have only a small fire (pic).
i left Sat. afternoon so i don't know if the 2Cool crowd built a big fire? they were between the Boilers and access-6

Oh Ok. I was over between BA# 5 and BA# 6 where I took that picture. That weekend was super nice!
That looks like a lot of fun sitting around the fire with everyone.
