Live Shrimp, available on Bolivar Penninsula/Crystal Beach?

I hope this is the right forum to post this question. I don't post often, and hope this doesn't offend. It's been since IKE that I've been to my lifetime love getaway, Crystal Beach and the entire fishing area of Bolivar...last I heard months ago was that their wasn't live shrimp available at any of the bait camps. I'm ready to make a trip now. Anyone know for sure where, or if, there is live shrimp available there yet? I'm thinking of hitting a weekend in the middle to late September...so very soon.

Appreciate any replies to help me out here.

Try calling Bluewater Bait Camp (409) 684-2248 (bait). They are back up and runnin. Their sign shows shrimp and croakers. I believe they are open 7 days a week now.

Stingaree usually has shrimp if you get there early.

This time of the year you might even just try the surf, they are usually running up front about this time......Steve

We've gotten a decent amount in the cast net recently. Haven't been to Bolivar in over a month but you try the water on the sides of the road (87 and leading up to Stingaree Marina).

If you're coming across the ferry from the Galveston side, I suggest that you give Joe's bait camp a shout as he is not far from the ferry on the Bolivar side. Joe normally has a good supply of all types of live and fresh dead bait. He and/or his wife will greet you with a smile and they do you right every time.

He is right there, it is the only place if we buy live bait that we go, and you will find that his bait last alot longer then any other on the Pennisula...He knows what he is doing and there is no moss on his wheels, every morn same thing. If Joe is not there wife will come out. They are some really great people, watch out for the Turkeys....lol!
