I went to High Island today and put it at the end of 124. Water was relatively smooth. Caught a bunch of slimers and small black tips on cut mullet. I could not find the reds.

Taught me the ropes back in 2004. I see him out at High Island or the Slabs on a good weather day.

I caught 5 bulls in 3 hours last sunday. Got out there at about 1:30pm. All were caught about 600 yards off the beach with cut mullet.

Friday was a bust. Rough water and high winds. Maybe next time...

Drove all the way from Pearland to High Island. Got there and it was +-15 mph winds and rough water with waves breaking 100 yards off the beach. Needless to say I did not launch. Ended up taking the ferry to get back home. The forecast was not accurate at all.

I know it is several days out but the forecast for the 16th and 17th looks good for a High Island trip. Anyone thinking about going?

Good to hear the reds are showing up. Sounds like this year may be a lot better than last year. Hopefully no more drives to Sea Rim.
