Wading near Bolivar ferry landing?

I haven't fished for over a year and am looking to get back into it again. Do they still allow wading near the Galveston/Bolivar ferry landing? I remember at one point they closed off the wading area on the Galveston side due to construction.

Anyone try there recently?

Thanks for the replies, I'll try the boiling trick.

And nah, I just haven't been fishing in many many months, probably around summer. Looking to start again, but the weather this week hasn't been too good. I may go down to Seabrook anyway..

Fixing plastics with bent tails?

I have some plastics that have been (jammed ) in the lure box too long, which resulted in bent tails. Any way to fix these?

What's helped me LAND more flounder is this - when wading, and you have the flounder about one rod's length in front of you .. if you can't net the fish yet, then use the rod and guide the fish around you in circles. Try to keep the fish in a horizontal position as much as you can. My personal exper...

On my navigator, I grinded the edges of the crate and then raised it a bit off the bottom of the kayak in order to make it fit better.

Even if your reel clicks slowly or just a little (and you know it's not seaweed or current), you can still grab and lift the rod alittle to test the pressure to see if there's a fish on.

How's the outlook for this weekend (H.I.)?

Anyone fishing this weekend? I'm thinking of taking some friends to the beach for some surf fishing.

Forecasts say 30% chance of rain, isolated thunderstorms .. but that usually means no rain.

Considering it's a hammer, maybe it didn't survive the fight. If you felt a freight train on the end of your line, wouldn't you try your best to fight it in to get a glimpse of it? At that point, it might've been too late for the shark?

Don't know, just playing devil's advocate.
