Re: How to get to gear?h
Two things I to keep handy on a neck lanyard are a hook sharpener and clippers (for knot tying). I also keep a fillet knife clipped to a belt loop. https://s6.postimg.cc/e3a033o31/Lanyard.jpg I suppose that the emergency whistle would be nice on a lanyard too, but it's in a life jacket pocket. Don't...

Stolen Kayak - Rockport
My grandson's Pelican Bounty was stolen in Rockport last week. I'd bought it for him less than a month earlier. It was locked in a rack with several other (and nicer) yaks, including my OC Prowler, but the cable was cut. Serial number is CA-ZEP30016F818. https://s6.postimg.cc/scpnryrl9/Bounty.jpg Th...

Re: Goose Island SP
My family camped and fished Goose Island often back in the '60s. My scout troop camped there too. Lots of memories, especially mosquitoes, my first sighting of a "feral" hog, the COLDEST ever night camping, etc. Anyway, while I've never been a pollical "activist", I did contact t...

Scupper Mount
Got a Striker Plus 4 for my Prowler which has a "transducer friendly" scupper in back. The Garmin came with a mount for conventional transoms or trolling motors, those methods were out, and I really don't care for thru-hull mounts. So... A few trips to Ace-is-the-place for PVC, washers, et...

First Kayak
Thanks for letting me into the forum. I just bought my first kayak, an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13. I've owned all kinds of boats in my 68 years, from canoes to flat bottoms, skiffs to inflatables and fished everything from farm ponds to Cook Inlet with 'em. (Dunno why I waited until I was old and croche...
