Re: Cooler SIZE survey
I have a Yeti 65 and an Ozark Trail 16 for lunch, and Ozark Trail 26 I keep cold drinks in the car, and a rolling Ozark Trail 65 (I think, its the older one, the new one is 45) But for 3-4 day camping trips my Treeline 20 is good enough and takes up less room than my Yeti. But when I go to Louisiana...

Re: kayaking with a tent cot?
I have a Cabelas Tent cot and it's great but way too big for taking out on a kayak. I recommend a Grand Trunk Mosquito hammock and a fly. Bring a mattress pad to keep the Mosquitos from biting in the backside.

Re: Folding claw anchors. Worth it in deeper water?
Well if your in 15 feet of water with a two pound anchor at a 7-1 ratio and it works. Then a heavier anchor would be needed in 60 feet of water. Your rope is 4 times longer and the drag created by the current on a rope Four times longer would overwhelm a 2 pound anchor so yes, he will need a bigger ...

Re: Folding claw anchors. Worth it in deeper water?
If your using your anchor in 60 ' of water maybe a heavier Bruce and a small chain to make it lay down and grip.

Re: Anchor "trip link"?
I like it. A 2.2 lb Lewmar anchor cost $8 at West Marine and this device cost twice that or more with shipping. But if your willing to spend the money it's a great idea.

You can put a tent on your cot http://www.lapolicegear.com/catoma-tents.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and snugpak makes a nice inexpensive bivy that keeps the skeeters off of you for less than $75.00. http://www.lapolicegear.com/snugpak-jungle.html" onclick="...

Re: Wilderness Systems Tarpon 160 hull failure
I have been using Wilderness Systems kayaks since 2004 and still have my original Tarpon 120. I bought it new. It is stored in the sun and has worked like a champ for all these years and I weigh 275 and am 6'3". Since then I have owned quite a few Wilderness systems kayaks including 120,140,160...

Re: Shimano Symetre or Stradic??
I have about 16 Stradic FH and FI and have dabbled with other reels like Quantum Cabo PT 20 but I love the smooth feel of the Stradic. But you will be replacing bearings about every 2-4 years. 16! I can imagine what your kayak looks like with 16 rod holders!!! j/k if you ever want t...

Re: Tournament tactics
I would like to add to your advice... 1. Find a couple of guys drinking beer at a boat ramp and get their advice. 2. Water is above 72 deg f make a 100 cast an hour, otherwise 40 and that means go slow. 3. Keep moving after 20 -30 fan cast with no luck. 4. Your catching small fish....keep moving. 5....
