They have started catching kings off the port a jetty. Saw a few pics this week of some nice ones. Silver spoons uasslly do the trick for smacks. Or live mullet.

MP rigs sound good to me, I haven't fishes them yet. I will probably try to launch closer to first light. Look foward to it. Just got my fish bag in and rigging up my lures and king leaders.

Im open to any launch point.

I have only been out to the stand pipe at bobhall. This year I plan on going offshore every chance I get and want to learn new areas. Want to hit the pins rig and the mayan princess rigs. Also want to find the rocks down pins.

Possible btb window this coming Monday. If the forecast stays the same I will be paddling offshore. Anyone interested in joining. Let me know. It will be a little bumpy but light winds and 1 to 2 foot surf forcasted as of now.

I have also been looking at the same spot. It looks like you can drive back in there from sea pines. Have you been down sea pines and tried to go back in there?. It would be a long paddle from anywhere else.

Im planning a trip on Monday. I have never fished the area before. I will be driving up from corpus. Im wondering if the bite is still strong. It looks like the airport road launch is the best place to launch. Then paddling up river. Any tips, advice, or if someone wants to join.

I live in corpus on the island. If this weather keeps up the season should be here by the end of the month if not sooner. Beach temps are already up to 66 degrees.
