Re: What is your thought on Hobies?
I've had a Pro Angler since 2012. Had my hull replaced once due to issues with no hassle. 6' 2" & 250 lbs and my ONLY complaint is that the seat won't recline enough to allow me to lay down and sleep in the thing when I get sleepy on a slow day. Yes, it's heavy on land, but in the water it ...

Re: Kamp Rite tent cot opinions
I have the oversize tent cot and love it! I have been in heavy wind and rain and stayed dry with no problem. I do wish it would fold up and fit in the yak, but then it likely would not be as easy as it is to set up and take down. You can't go wrong with one.

Re: Why not hard plastic suspending twitch baits?
I use the suspending baits when others are using top waters. They work when top waters work, it's just that most people love top water baits. Hint: try modifying a saltwater Swimming Image so that it will suspend and hang on!

I too, would like to know a good, safe place to launch at Offats! I have often wanted to fish there but good places close to Moody Gardens or even across from Moody Gardens seem impossible to find.

Re: How'd everyone come up with his/her handle?
I was a Production Specialist in a new (back in "99) AN unit who had operating responsibility for a serial #1 design, of an extremely large $7 m waste heat boiler. My nickname very quickly became Boiler as I was at one time, an expert on anything having to do with this piece of equipment. I hav...

Re: Kayak trailer plates stolen again
Sorry to hear that. I will have to keep a better eye on my trailer. Might try to find some of those "security" screws that take a special fitting to install and remove. Thanks for the heads up.

I highly recommend Tilley's as I have worn them for quite some time now. I had to buy my hat online though as the size of my noggin' is a little larger than most.

Re: Crabman Marina - Port Aransas/AP Area: Feedback Requested
Congratulations on the new place! One thing I'd like to suggest is when you add lights, use solar panels and LED lights. Don't know initial cost, but after the install, that's all there is. LED's last next to forever, and you will have no electricity bill to be concerned with. Hope to make it down t...

Re: Why do you kayak fish instead of motor boat fish?
I kayak fish because it is fun! :D I don't ever see myself purchasing a boat due to maintenance and cost. I could buy many kayaks with the money I would spend on a boat. I also feel that it allows me to slow down and be "one" with the fish and the water. A kayak will also rock you to sleep...

Re: Lights on your kayak
I have a Hobie PA and I also have the full "array" of Wildcat Lighting led's. Let me say that they are great and they work. I have had shrimp jump into my kayak before (could have been due to them being chased by the trout that were tearing them up) while anchored. The lights are bright an...

Re: Screen name Significance
I was a member of an Acrylonitrile plant startup team, responsible for the WHB (pronounced "WAB" - short for Waste Heat Boiler). I knew that monstrosity inside and out, having watched it come from the ground up. The processors actually called me Boilerhead (hat size 8+), but I just shorten...
