Trust me, worth it. Solid fiberglass. Buy the 3/4" diameter and you can make a T-head out of PVC.

Looking to be double digit winds. I would consider that heavily when thinking about taking kids out on a kayak.

the comparison between Rtic and yeti is quite amusing though. When rtic first came out they were automatically labeled as a yeti copier BUT the prices were a lot cheaper. I have a '16 2 door soft top. I am saving for a Barracade Roof rack ($399)

Not too worried about mounting it to the rack, just need something up there that is sturdier than the bows of the soft top.

I'll be taking my two boys out there soon. I've seen a lot of 3lb+ bass being pulled out of there.
