Re: DIY Weighted King Duster...

Think I'm going to try to make a few of these for next season. Thanks for the video, anything you have learned or changed in the months since?

How does the paint hold up, did you just use spray paint?

Re: Spearfishing the rigs?

The further south you go along the coast the better the clarity will get but that doesn't mean Bob Hall will always be nice to dive. Its pretty common to have 5 foot of visibility at BH so you really cant see far past your spear tip. But, depending on current we do get some blue water at times and y...

Re: BTB Break for a river trip??

I have taken several overnight trips on the mighty Brazos and I would have to say this river is where my fishing obsession was started. I was mostly in the Sugar Land area but I would highly recommend a trip down this river. If anyone wants some information on doing a trip in this area just send me ...

Re: Already stocking for first BTB trip this summer, what should I return?

I am still using the single strand steel leader usually the #5 which I think is rated at 44lbs. I know a lot of people have switched to titanium but I’m too cheap. I usually make my leaders about 24” to 30” long.

Re: One more video and I promise to stop for a few days...

I went out to the Bob Hall rig on Saturday and was joined by a ton of PBs. Most were coming up to the rig for 10 or 20 minutes and leaving after they didn't catching anything. I really believe the boat traffic slowed down the bit but I did manage to catch two kings. That rig is probably one of the m...

Re: PINS 6-18

Morning waves were a little bit sporty but we made it through and out to the rig. Caught a mid sized jack before getting to the rig and caught a ton of blue fish jigging around the rig. Action was getting a little slow until around 10am, some blue water got pushed close to the rig with the green/blu...

PINS 6-18

Tomorrow looks like the best window for fishing this week. Low wind and 3 foot seas.

Anyone want to meet up at the PINS rig at sunrise?

Re: Verticle jigging

You can catch ANYTHING on a vertical jig. I often will leave a ribbon fish drifting behind me and have a rod in my hand jigging around the rig. Not much is more exciting that getting a big bite while verticals jigging.

Re: Corpus Christi Trip 3-13-18

Visibility was less than 3 feet, swell was real choppy and weather was pretty cold. Couldn’t find the fish today and with the rough conditions I called it a little early and started paddling back around 11.

Re: A one and done rod and reel combo

If I just had to have one reel I would go with a penn spinfisher V, I’ve had mine for 3 years now and it still feels great. I also fish with the Seigler SG (formally Truth reels) but if I had to just chose one reel I would go with the spinfisher just because I cannot cast the SG and the spinfisher i...

Re: What kind of jugs and lures for the Gulf?

It all depends on what your targets species is but assuming you're targeting the normal kingfish, cobia, jacks and smacks because you're in the btb page. I am a big fan of anything shinny lures so anything silver I would hold onto. As far as color I mostly use blue or pink but honestly haven't seen ...
