I normally go braid straight to my wire leader for jigging.

You can catch ANYTHING on a vertical jig. I often will leave a ribbon fish drifting behind me and have a rod in my hand jigging around the rig. Not much is more exciting that getting a big bite while verticals jigging.

Visibility was less than 3 feet, swell was real choppy and weather was pretty cold. Couldn’t find the fish today and with the rough conditions I called it a little early and started paddling back around 11.
