Re: Lighthouse lakes/redfish bay

Well what the game warden told me last week when I had a discussion with him was that as long as you're on the water in a yak and do not cross private property, shoot over private property you are good (cannot launch or beach and shoot). He said the waters are public but the land that surrounds it a...

Re: Surfside Jetties

From what I've read in an article not too long ago, the TPWD reports are written by Bink Grimes. He is a full time guide around the RP area and he has written a couple of books for Texas Fish and Game. He also writes a monthly article in Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine. I find the reports helpful b...

smart baits? Has anyone heard of this?

Just stumbled across this when I was researching something. Looks pretty cool and worth a shot. Has anyone used these baits and had luck?

Re: 5-20-2017 Dad and Matagorda

I to am sorry for your loss man. I still am holding onto the remains of my dad and waiting for the right time. It's a coincidence that you say you had a house on the river. We had a house in Sargent and use to fish that area and east part of East Matty years ago. I've been thinking about doing somew...

Re: Voice your Opinion - Your dream bay/ marsh kayak

I love my Cuda 14, would only change a few things; 20lbs lighter, on 2014 version to remove the center hatch lid you have to move your rods off the holder to fully open it, I love the pull out tackle pod like the Viking reload and wish my Cuda had one. Not the fastest or most stable but very good a...

Re: Voice your Opinion - Your dream bay/ marsh kayak

Okay I feel like yall are missing what I'm trying to get at here. I was never asking if there was a kayak that could do it all what would you want. I am simply asking what would YOU want on your dream kayak for the type of fishing you do. What ever it may be. Not an all in one kayak. If you mainly f...

Re: Voice your Opinion - The Perfect kayak

Ok maybe I should have used a different title and be more specific. This is directed towards "ones dream kayak for the bay/ marsh" not River or BTB. As I am aware that river yaks and BTB yak are designed differently with certain things in mind.

Almost Alive Lures

Has anyone used these lures? If yes, are they any good? I was thinking about buying some of their glass minnows and trying them out. Just thought I'd see if anyone has heard of them or tried them out with success. http://www.almostalivelures.com/shop/almost-alive-soft-plastics?zenid=a36c1b520f207b3b...

Heading out on Sunday

I'm headed out on Sunday regardless of weather lol. I see that it will be a strong NNE-NE wind but I'm trying to figure out exactly where I want to go. Sunday is the only day I have until the 26th and I'm going insane since I haven't been on the salt in a good minute and I need the therapy badly! I ...

Re: March 11-14 Vacation

Christmas Bay South shoreline is good a wade. It's not bad and there are a lot of deep rocks/ holes around the south shoreline. You can probably camp on the beach and take a 2 minute drive to M257 (Dolphin Dr.) and start your wade there. Check Google Earth out for the South shoreline of Christmas Bay.

Anyone have any luck with the YUM Money Minnows?

As the title says. Has anyone had any luck with the YUM Money Minnows? Any size. I saw them yesterday when I was window shopping at Academy and they looked like a great mullet imitation. I would think the large one would be good for the 1 week of winter we get here in Texas. Has anyone tried putting...

Wow. Thank you all for the prayers and support! They defiantly worked. My son got discharged today and is doing well. He is back to his normal self again which is great! He just can't or doesn't want to walk because he had the IV in his foot so it's a little sore. The Dr's said that he has an upper ...

Please pray for my son

Yesterday my son had two febral seizures. They have emitted him into the hospital here at UTMB and are running a bunch of tests. I fear that something bad is the cause of this but am trying to keep strong for them and trying to stay positive. If you could please send prayers his way it would mean a ...

It was good meeting up with ya'll too. I'm glad you managed not to skunk. I didn't even catch a buzz that night  . It's a little late notice but the warden just approved my request for tonight. I'm planning on hitting the lights at the area I told you about on the 4th on the west end. Would be...

NEW Propulsion for HOBIES

So I am working on a conversion kit for a trolling motor and was curious on every ones take on it. If you were able to make your Hobie go anywhere between 10 - 15 knots for $500 would you buy the kit? Please do not bash the idea I am just seeing if anyone would buy a kit like this. Thanks.

Re: Trout Support DVDs for Christmas Gifts

are the DVDs strictly sold from your website? or is there a store that might sell them... or maybe available at something like the boat show this weekend? As far as I am aware they are strictly from Tobins' web site. I could be wrong. Tobin is a great dude! He goes above and beyond and really helps...

Freeport 11/20

I got to my primary spot yesterday before sunrise to find out that it was windy and choppy. I didn't have the warm and fuzzies about fishing that spot that day so I headed to my secondary spot which was protected by the NE - E wind. I got to my spot and launched right after sunrise. As soon as I got...

If it wasn't for Tobin and his crew who helped create these DVD's, I would still be stuck way behind the learning curve from where I am at now. He truly goes above and beyond to help each and every angler whether he/ she may be new to the sport or salty. He's very knowledgeable and a great mentor. I...

Anyone been Night Fishing lately?

Has anyone been lately? Was just curious as to how good the lights have been. I know that bait is starting to move out from the canals but I'm talking about the other lights.
