Pensacola April 25 - 28

My son and I are going to Florida to do some kayak fishing. We will be statying at Fort Pickens camp grounds and will be kayak fishing. Our goal is to land some BTB fish that we can not get out of Galveston. Can anyone give us some good advise on fishing in that area, this time of year.

Re: Bluewater Kayak Classic II - Report

I hear you both. I think if they had known just how tough it would be they would have made the call to cancel the event. I don't get the impression that sponsorships were an issue, but knowing how far some of the contestants had travelled may have played a part. Ben I'm always happy to hit the wate...

Chirp Sonar & Structure Scan

I purchased the Lowrance Elite 7, after watching many youtube videos and doing some reading on the various units. When it arrived yesterday it has Two transducers, not what I expected. I have installed the Down and side scan if they are both the same transducer, and have what seems to be the standar...

Re: BWKC Camping

If they have it this coming weekend I will be camping. I live in Houston and really have not been able to here anything about my fellow yakers in the Corpus area.
It is understood if there was too much damage and this is moved out a bit.

Re: Hurricane Harvey

I pray every one was safe. We are a great community and I think it is great that a hobby, (kayak fishing) has such a bond with all of us to help and support each other as we all care for one another and our families and neighbors. I am honored to be part of such a great group of people. Stand proud ...

Yes, I think they want us to use the buddy system . I do not have a partner and will hope to find one prior, or just go out and follow the group ( if they don't throw tomatoes) I have been working on king rigs and being prepared. I have never done this kind of fishing and figured, I would enjoy the ...

I will be there for the tournament on July 1, come go fishing Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk I am seriously considering this tournament. I'll be watching the wind and waves forecast. If it looks good, I'll be there. I may have to make a last minute go/no go decision on this, so I may have to ...

Re: RE: Re: Electric Bilge Pump

I have to ask, do you get a lot of water in your yak from normal use? If you do then I would look at sealing the leaks first and then think about a bilge as last resort. If you turtle your electronics may be fried anyway so the pump helping you out is moot. I recently fixed a rear hatch leak on my ...

Wait a minute,,,I can not stop laughing, wiping the tears from my eyes. I am glad that you made it back safely and know that I have been in that situation a few times myself. I just did not have it in me to try this past weekend. Like you I did the same, I entered in the TBWKC for this July, never ...

Re: I did not drive four hours...

I did not drive four hours to sit on the beach and watch the waves. I checked on the thread religiously, you know the one; Bob Hall Pier, learn from the BTB veterans…blah, blah, blah. Finally it’s time to get salt and (real) slime on the kayak. Rent a condo, check, wife and kid ready for a vacation...

Electric Bilge Pump

I have done the search but did not have the "magic words" to locate, so please bare with me. I am looking to install a bilge pump in the front of my PA-14, at the point where it is too narrow for the standard pump. So my thought is to configure some tubing to lay in the narrow space to get...

Re: SeaDek or Harmony Traction?

Seadek all the way, I just practiced flipping and reentry today, the Seadek on the front hatch allowed me to pull myself on it with out ever slipping and was above my expectations.
I had Exact Customs come out they measured and installed a perfect job and great people to work with.

If we can get a permit I don't see why not!
I work with a guy who is on the board of directors for the woodlands and he spoke to the director of parks and he said it would not be hard to do. Sent you a pm
